In this section, people who have experienced harm due to gambling talk about the changes they would like to see to prevent harm and addiction from happening in the first place.
Affected others describe the fundamental changes needed in gambling regulation. They say that the way advertising is talked about and shown needs to change. This is to prevent gambling harm to individuals, families, communities, and society.
They describe the changes that they would like to see made to gambling treatment and support services for affected others and people experiencing difficulties with their gambling. People also talk about changes that are needed for other institutions, such as financial services, in the workplace, and in education.
People talk about what needs to be done to tackle stigma and discrimination.

I come back to the point products have to be changed. It is immoral. It to me is unethical. It’s just not right.
We need to stop bombarding people with this message that gambling is good, and gambling will lead to a six-bedroom mansion with a swimming pool in the back garden.
I really feel the needs of the affected other are dismissed by many. More aid and support has to be implemented. There seems to be more of an understanding offered to the gambler and very little to the affected other.
I think more wider, private companies, businesses, public sector organisations, anyone, I would say make sure you try to incorporate a level of awareness around gambling addiction as much in your policies as you do maybe in other aspects.
